Types of String Trimmers
Electric string trimmers are the quietest, least expensive option. They are friendliest to the environment and most suitable for smaller lawns because of electric cord limitations. Battery powered string trimmers are a good alternative, but last only half an hour or so per battery charge.
Gas string trimmers work well for larger lawns, are powerful enough to cut the toughest weeds, and have no cord restrictions. They are also relatively noisy and the biggest pollutants in the group.
As powerful as gas trimmers, propane string trimmers can cover large areas without restrictions, and are more environmentally friendly. They are also more expensive to operate than gas trimmers and heavier than electric trimmers.
